Woronora river

A jewel in the Georges river crown, Woronora river is one of my favourite spots to Kayak for Bream. Launching from the Ramp at Bonnet Bay in the early hours is my preferred time to fish, the water is very quiet and if you fish the last few hours of a run in tide the fish will be holding up against the banks under the many jetties that litter the banks heading up to the Georges.
If this is your situation then casting small diving lures like Halco Scorpion 35s, Eastcoast Rack-Rats and Smak Rack Walkers are all well accepted by the big Bream hiding around the shoreline stucture and your sure to get smashed up by the odd monster.
Moving across the river you'll find a number of small backwaters and feeder creeks and the remnant mounds of old oyster racks can be found in between each creek mouth. Berkley 2" Tournament Grubs are the go here, with pink or black/gold working a treat when the water is fairly stained and the Ginger Beer is probably my favorite colour when the water is clear.
Heading back up stream the pylons of Woronora bridge are well worth a work over with 3" Plastic worms and even small divers worked on the pylons closest to shore will produce a number of legal size bream.
The key to this area is to fish quiet times, if boat traffic starts to get heavy where you are, move to a quieter location !
